Soggy Saturday in Alaska

Today was the first day off since we arrived at Big Lake. Most of the guys went fishing at 4AM. The rest of us slept in and went into Anchorage for the day to shop downtown. Those of us going shopping were privileged see a female moose on the way. A few of the fishermen caught salmon. Kenny, Don and Chuck all managed to land good sized salmon. After supper Chuck filleted them and we will have them for dinner on Monday. This evening we had the privilege of meeting the Hanes family, missionaries to Singapore, wrapping up their time in the US before heading back to Singapore in a week. We celebrated another anniversary today as the camp directors Becky and Terry Livengood have been married 22 years today.

We have a short night tonight as we will leave at 4:45AM Sunday by van to catch a bus to get to a  ship for a 6 hour cruise and then a train back to Big Lake. Now it is after 9PM and the sun is finally out and will be up for another couple hours, we are all off to bed to get a short nights rest for the big day tomorrow.
